AUSTRALIAN LONG DISTANCE RUNNER PAT FARMER IN JAIPUR ON SUNDAY

Jaipur, 05 March, 2016: The Australian long distance runner, Pat Farmer will be in Jaipuron Sunday, 6 March. He is currently running from Kanyakumari (Tamil Nadu) to Srinagar (J&K) under the programme ‘Spirit of India Run’. The run began on 26 January 2016 and will end on 30 March 2016 at Srinagar. When he ends his run – Farmer would have covered a whopping 4,488 kms.

Farmer entered Rajasthan from Gujarat border on 27 February and reached Dungarpur. Thereafter, he ran and covered Udaipur (28 February), Rajsamand (29 February), Devgarh (1 March), Beawar (2 March), Ajmer (3 March), Kishangarh (4 March) and Savarda (5 March), he will reach Heerapura touching Jaipur city on 6 March. From the Pink City Farmer will run towards Dausa on 7 Marchmorning. In Jaipur he will be welcomed by the Department of Tourism (DOT) and Ministry of Tourism officials, Travel and Trade Associations like RATO, IHHA and HRAR, runners, enthusiasts, Sports Department and students of Hotel Management.

In Jaipur his route will be start point Heerapura (6 am)- BRTS corridor- Sodala- Hawa Sadak- Bais Godam- Ambedkar Circle- Ram Bagh Circle- Left- RBI- Takhte Shahi Road- Moti Dungari- Trimurti Circle- Adarsh Nagar- Raja Park- Transport Nagar- Ghat Ki Gooni- Agra Road. Mr. Farmer will briefly halt near BRTS corridor for felicitation, then around 6:45 am near Ambedkar Circle Polo Club.

On 6th March itself, in the evening Farmer will interact with Press and Media at Mandawa Haveli in Jaipur (Sansar Chandra Road)

The other prominent cities of India Farmer will cover or has covered through his run are Mumbai, Delhi, Agra, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Jalandhar among others. 56 year-old Farmer runs as much as 80 kms on a daily basis and for the first few kms his spouse accompanies him. Thereafter, she is in a vehicle accompanying him.

Farmer has been a Member of Parliament from Sydney and has also been Assistant Minister for Education and Sports in the Government of Australia. He has millions of followers across the globe who regularly follow him on social media where ever he runs. His run will promote Rajasthan as an attractive tourist destination. The DOT has made all arrangements for the stay of Farmer at all places in Rajasthan.
