The facelifted 3-Series GT by BMW that made its global debut at Paris Motor Show this earlier year, is again in news as media reports claim that the car is scheduled to be launched in India on October 19.
With minor tweaks, the revised model has adaptive LED headlights, LED fog lamps, new front grille and bumper having more air intakes, along with new LED tail lights. The car also features the most recent version of BMW’s navigation system. However, details about engine and transmissions on offer for Indian market have not been disclosed yet.
In international markets, the 3-Series GT is being offered with 18 different engine, gearbox, and drive configurations. Powered by a 2.0 litre diesel engine that makes 188 BHP and 400 Nm of torque, offering an 8-Speed Steptronic automatic transmission, the car is offered only in the 320d trim. Whether BMW will introduce the petrol version for Indian market in wake of increased preference for petrol engines among Indian buyers is yet to be seen.
