College of Hospitality Administration (CHA), Hotel Management college celebrated Cake Cutting Ceremony as a part of the Christmas Celebration at College Campus.
The history of cake-mixing ceremony dates back to 17th century in Europe, when it marked the arrival of the harvest season. It is a harbinger of good tidings and happiness. During this time lots of fruits and nuts were harvested and prepared to go into the making of the traditional Plum Cake. The mix was saved up for the next harvest season with the hope that the coming year would bring with it another abundant year. This ceremony quickly metamorphosed to a close affair, with the family sitting together and soaking dry fruits in wine or rum and hoping that the fine flavor fills their Christmas with delectable sweetness.
The cake was mixed & prepared by the students of CHA almost a month back under the guidance of the institute’s Chef Tanvee & Chef Kishan using the fruits & nuts along with the rum & brandy as per the tradition. CHA celebrated Cake Cutting Ceremony on the holy occasion of Merry Christmas. The Managing Director of the institute Anand Yadav cut the cake to mark the festive season. All the students & staff members of CHA took part in the festivity. The cake was also presented to some catholic schools to show respect for their culture. The day ended with due respect to this community.
