In what may come across as pleasant news to the Central Government employees, the Union Government of India has decided to dole out pending two years’ revised bonuses to its employees. Union finance minister Arun Jaitley conveyed the same. The move may benefit more than 30 lakh employees of the Central Government.
Apart from this, the Central Government has also decided to raise the minimum wage for non – agricultural workers from Rupees 246 per day to Rupees 350 per day. A decision has also been taken by the Central Government to convey to all the states vis a vis compliance of Contract Workers Law.
A nationwide strike call has been given by trade unions which can disrupt work in the Government sector. The unions had put forth its list of 12 – points, demanding minimum wages of Rupees 18000 per month for Central Government employees.
