Jaipur: For the first time Pink City is witnessing an open air art gallery with the theme of Auto Art and Literature promoting heritage and this unique open air gallery will attract audience as the paintings have been put on all old traditional gates of Jaipur such as Chandpole, Jorawar Singh Gate, Sanganeri Gate, Ajmeri Gate, Suraj Pol etc. Near about 20 scrolls of painting canvas of size 15-30 feet at prominent places of Pink City are connecting Literature and Automobile Art. These gates have been chosen for the display as they have a rich history and reflect the colourful art of Rajasthan.
Each Scroll has a different language and alphabets with Automobile Art in its background. These scrolls are made in calligraphy and realistic style written in different languages such as Chinese, English, Rajsthani, Hindi, Urdu, Arabic, Sanskrit, Prakrit, Japanese etc.
The whole creative exercise will spread awareness among the Jaipurites about art and culture. CARTIST believes in promoting Jaipur’s young artists, hence all the paintings are by city based artists. Himanshu Jangid of CARTIST said, “It is for the first time that the gates of Jaipur have been transformed into an open air gallery. It is not only attracting the audience but is also sensitizing the masses towards art, literature and culture. The old gates are playing the f role of an ethnic backdrop”
Almost around 20 artists of Jaipur have painted these scrolls, while some are still giving their last strokes on the canvas. The prominent ones include Aditya Rathore, Pawan Kumar, Geeta Chauhan, Man Sa, Harishankar Balothia, Akashram, Saloni, Arun, Srikant Ranga, Amit Kalla, Anivesh, Akash Ram and Aditya.
Apart from this, CARTIST is also promoting AUTO ART in collaboration with JLF. Beautiful paintings depicting heritage and Auto Art are displayed at the venue, Diggi Palace. A free shuttle service of colourful Autos is also running from main road to the Diggi lawns for the guests.
