Jaipur, 8th March 2016: Maruti Suzuki has launched its much awaited compact SUV, Vitara Brezza in Indian market today at hatchback price. The price tag ranges from Rs. 6.99 lakh for the base model LDi up to Rs. 9.68 lakh for top one ZDi plus. The company has started bookings with deliveries likely to begin in the last week of March 2016.
A 1.3 litre (DDiS 200), 4-cylinder diesel engine sourced by Fiat powers Vitara Brezza. It delivers 89 BHP @ 4000 rpm and 200 Nm torque @ 1750 rpm. The car has only two-wheel drive configuration with power transmission through a 5-speed gearbox. So far there is no petrol variant of Vitara Brezza.
Having a dimension of 3995 mm (length), 1790 mm (width), 1640 mm (height) and wheelbase of 2500 mm, the car is based on Suzuki C-platform and employs Suzuki TECT (Suzuki Total Effective Control Technology) that uses high-tensile steel in body structure. The car’s kerb weight ranges from 1,170 kg – 1,195 kg.
The claimed fuel efficiency of Vitara Brezza is 24.3 km per litre. It comes in 9 colour options – 6 single tone and 3 dual tone colour schemes.
All variants have driver airbag while the LDi (O), VDi (O), ZDi and ZDi+ also get ABS and EBS. The prominent features also include ‘Bull Horn’ LED light guides at the front and rear, projector headlamps, instrument cluster mood lights, reverse parking sensors with an infographic display, a reversing camera, the SmartPlay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink, AUX/USB/Bluetooth connectivity, 4 speakers with 2 tweeters, steering mounted audio and telephony controls, navigation, voice commands, 60:40 split rear seats, cruise control, engine start/stop button and automatic climate control among others.
In Jaipur, the bookings of Vitara Brezza have started at Maruti Suzuki dealers – K.P. Automotives, Vipul Motors, Prem Motors and Sanga Motors. The deliveries are likely to start from 21st March 2016.
