The Beginning is a fictional historical film, directed by S.S. Rajamouli. It claims to be the most expensive production in the history of Indian cinema to date. The movie was released worldwide on 10 July, 2015. It received positive reviews from critics and managed to hit the highest grossing opening for an Indian film at the Box office. The final part of the fame is scheduled to hit the theatres in 2016.

The movie revolves around the central character, Baahubali (played by Prabhas). The story talks about his attempts to cross a larger than life waterfall, and stumble upon his long forgotten kingdom, which is now being ruled by Bhallala Deva (played by Rana Daggubati). The lead actress, portrayed by Tamannah plays the hero’s romantic interest and looks ravishing.

The second half of the movie cites a grand war. The depiction of medieval weapons and warfare strategies are commendable. However, the war sequence seems a little too stretched out. The cinematography, along with the special effects is the highlight of this film. Baahubali is magnificent to look at.

A large part of the movie shuttles between hazy flashbacks and present scenarios which obstructs the plot. There are too many songs which could’ve been avoided. Also, Rana Daggubati could have delivered a better performance!

If you enjoy picturesque sceneries and exquisite sets, book your tickets. Miss this one if you are looking for a strong story line or an edgy plot.
