Delhi, August 15, 2015: From the ramparts of historic Red Fort this Independence Day, came a new slogan that was coined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in tune with his vision for an industrious India. “Start-Up India; Stand-Up India” is the new call after “Make In India”. Start-ups – small, medium or big – have an all round effect on any nation’s economy. These ventures from people at large can be tremendous sources of employment. There are around 1.25 lakh bank branches across the country. PM made a suggestion, if each of these branches extends financial assistance to at least one tribal or scheduled cast person in their catchment areas exclusively for a start-up, there shall be 1.25 lakh new start-ups in the country. It is not a big target and can be accomplished easily. Such start-ups can generate employment for approximately 4-5 lakh persons, assuming 4-5 persons joining each start-up.
