Rajasthan’s journey toward integrated and sustainable infrastructure received a significant boost on the second day of the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ Global Investment Summit 2024. Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, announced nine road and highway projects worth INR 30,000 crore, covering 800 kilometers. Key projects include the Northern Jaipur Ring Road and the Jaipur-Kishangarh-Jodhpur to Amritsar Highway.
Addressing the event, Gadkari expressed confidence in Rajasthan’s bright future under Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma’s leadership. “The Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor passing through Rajasthan’s tribal regions will accelerate their development and unlock industrial potential,” said Gadkari.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma highlighted the government’s efforts in infrastructure development, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. “These advancements not only benefit today but will leave a lasting legacy for future generations,” he stated.
The thematic session, titled “Infrastructure: An Important Link in Supply Chain,” featured discussions on sustainable expressways, logistics enhancement, and creating industrial hubs near transport networks. Experts emphasized the importance of eco-friendly expressways and efficient freight movement systems.
Jogaram Patel, Rajasthan’s Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, commended the Chief Minister’s initiatives, describing them as historic steps to connect the state’s four corners. Additionally, Praveen Gupta, Principal Secretary of PWD, announced the upcoming Rajasthan Logistics Policy 2024 to attract investment and reduce transportation costs.
The session brought together esteemed officials and experts, including Santosh Kumar Yadav, Chairman of NHAI, and representatives from various national and international organizations, who deliberated on strategies for modernizing Rajasthan’s transport network and logistics sector.
