After completing his graduation in English literature from University of Westminster, London, his interest in fashion designing bloomed and got wings under London Fashion Week. Initially he began his journey as a blogger, then being a model. Today, he owns his eponymous fashion label, Karan Vig.
He always carries Indian dhoti with silk dupattas and jewellery as his patent wear in all the fashion shows in which he makes his appearance. His designs are inspired from Rajwadas and he propagates the use of handlooms in his design collection. Karan is of the opinion that Indian sarees not only give a bold style statement to Indian women, but also brings in the rich heritage and grand poise, which no other outfit can bring.
He is invited as a guest in many fashion shows nationally and internationally including London Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, Pakistan Fashion Week, Asian Bridal Show, London, Lakme Fashion Week, Asian Designer Week, India Luxury Style Week, India Glam Fashion Week etc. He has delivered a TEDx talk and also gives lectures on fashion styling. He has keen interest in discussing feminism and gender equality from an LGBTQ activist perspective.
