Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma emphasized the importance of environmental conservation in Indian culture, underscoring the state’s commitment to greening Rajasthan. Speaking at the 75th State Level Forest Festival in Gadota, Dudu, he announced that over the next five years, 500 million trees will be planted across Rajasthan.
On the occasion of Hariyali Teej, more than 10 million trees will be planted in a single day across the state. To ensure their survival and growth, the trees will be geo-tagged. The Chief Minister urged everyone to actively participate in this initiative to build a greener Rajasthan.
Government’s Commitment to Environmental Conservation:
The state government has launched the “Chief Minister’s Plantation Mega Campaign” with a target to plant 70 million saplings this year alone. Over the next five years, 500 million trees will be planted, with thorough measures for their protection and growth. The initiative involves various departments, NGOs, educational institutions, and local bodies, providing technical support and saplings to accelerate the plantation process.
Establishment of ‘Matrivan’ in Every District:
In each district, ‘Matrivan’ will be established, featuring a variety of tree species. Through the “Raj Geo Tree App,” 510,000 certificates will be distributed to tree enthusiasts. Additionally, 2,000 ‘Van Mitras’ (Forest Friends), including retired employees, will be appointed as guardians of the trees.

Chief Minister Sharma honored individuals and organizations with the Amrita Devi Bishnoi Memorial Awards for their contributions to forest development and wildlife protection. Various categories recognized the outstanding efforts of people from different parts of Rajasthan.
Support to Various Sectors:
The state government is continuously working to support farmers, the poor, women, and youth through various initiatives, including the Farmers’ Honor Fund, social security pensions, subsidized gas cylinders, and measures against exam paper leaks.
The event saw participation from key dignitaries, including Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Premchand Bairwa, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel, and Forest State Minister Sanjay Sharma, among others. The Chief Minister was warmly welcomed and honored with a garland, and he also inaugurated several publications related to the plantation campaign.
The ceremony concluded with an exhibition visit and tying of rakhi by self-help group women to the Chief Minister, symbolizing the community’s involvement in the green initiative.
