This year, the Rajasthan Tourism Department is reimagining the annual Teej Festival, scheduled for August 7 and 8, with an innovative approach under the theme “Colors of Teej… With Rajasthan.”
“The Teej festival is a hallmark of Rajasthan’s cultural identity. With changing times, we are innovating in ways that not only attract tourists but also ensure that our new generation celebrates the festival with enthusiasm”. – Diya Kumari, Deputy Chief Minister
Upendra Singh Shekhawat, Deputy Director – Rajasthan Tourism informed about arrangements of this year Teej Celebrations that special selfie stations will be installed at prominent tourist spots such as Albert Hall, Hawa Mahal, and City Palace. These stations will offer both locals and tourists memorable photo opportunities during the festival. Hariyali Teej, marking the start of the festive season, signifies life, fertility, and prosperity.
The grand Teej procession will start from the City Palace and will be accompanied by stages at Janani Deodhi, Choti Chaupad, and Tal Katora featuring folk performances. A highlight of this year’s festivities will be a spectacular fireworks display, along with performances by Army and Jail bands. Seating arrangements will be provided near Hind Hotel, and flower petals will be dropped on the procession from drones.
Photo Contest
In alignment with this year’s theme, a photo contest will be conducted where participants can submit five Teej-related photographs on the department’s social media platforms by August 11. The best entries will receive awards. Influencers will also be engaged to capture and share festival highlights, focusing on themes like “Colors of Teej… With Ghewar,” “Colors of Teej… With Leheriya,” and “Colors of Teej… With Jewelry.”
Connecting the Diaspora through Live Streaming
Live streaming of the Teej procession and cultural events will be available on the department’s website and social media channels. LED screens will be positioned at key locations, including Tripolia Gate, Choti Chaupad, Badi Chaupad, Albert Hall, and Tal Katora.
This initiative aims to bring the Teej Festival to a global audience, allowing people worldwide to experience the celebration’s vibrant traditions. The festival, significant both in Rajasthan and across India, will be showcased through live streaming to strengthen the connection with the diaspora.
