Diya Kumari to Receive Woman Tourism Minister of the Year Award at ITB Berlin, Rajasthan Named Destination of the Year

Under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, Rajasthan is emerging as a top destination for tourism both nationally and globally

Diya Kumari, Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister of Rajasthan, is set to receive the prestigious Woman Tourism Minister of the Year award for India at ITB Berlin in Germany. Simultaneously, Rajasthan will be recognized with the esteemed Patwa International Travel Award as the Destination of the Year for Royal Experiences.

Under Diya Kumari’s guidance, Rajasthan’s Tourism Department is actively working to establish the state as a prominent global tourism destination. Efforts are focused on enhancing the visibility of Rajasthan’s diverse tourism offerings on both national and international platforms.

The Rajasthan government’s commitment to developing the tourism sector is evident through its comprehensive action plan, closely aligned with the Central Government’s vision, aimed at boosting tourism across the state. This dedication has earned Rajasthan the distinction of being selected as the 2024 Destination of the Year – Royal Experiences by the Pacific Area Travel Writers Organization (PATWA), with the award ceremony scheduled for ITB Berlin 2025.

The Tourism Department of Rajasthan consistently participates in key events such as the ITB Berlin Germany Mart, effectively showcasing Rajasthan’s Royal Experiences and tourism attractions to prominent German and European travel agents. A specialized session held at the Indian Embassy in Germany further highlighted Rajasthan’s tourism diversity, sparking considerable interest among European operators to promote tourism flows to the state.

In 2023, Rajasthan witnessed an impressive surge in foreign tourist arrivals by 328.52%, underscoring its increasing global tourism appeal. This growth complemented a notable 65% rise in domestic tourist numbers, culminating in a total of 18,07,51,794 tourists visiting Rajasthan during the year.

Gayatri Rathore, Principal Secretary of Tourism, emphasized ongoing efforts in branding both domestically and internationally, spearheaded by Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari. Events like the successful Great Indian Travel Bazaar in Jaipur and the Wed in India Expo have further cemented Rajasthan’s reputation as a premier destination for tourism and weddings.

Overall, Rajasthan’s strategic initiatives and sustained efforts under Diya Kumari’s leadership are successfully raising its profile as a leading global tourism hub, attracting a significant influx of tourists and garnering recognition on international stages.
