In Travel + Leisure’s annual survey, with over 186,000 readers participating, Udaipur, Rajasthan, has been ranked second among the world’s best cities and has claimed the top spot in Asia.
The Travel + Leisure Readers’ Awards announced the top ten best cities globally, with San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, taking the first place, Udaipur the second, and Kyoto, Japan, the third.
Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari expressed her happiness at Udaipur’s high ranking, noting that it reflects the city’s rich heritage, art, culture, cuisine, and the warm hospitality of its residents, which attract tourists worldwide. She added that the combined efforts of the state government and tourism stakeholders have made Rajasthan a premier tourist destination, leaving visitors with unforgettable experiences.
Principal Secretary Gayatri Rathore highlighted the progress of Rajasthan tourism under Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari’s leadership, noting a substantial increase in domestic and international tourists early this year, solidifying Rajasthan’s status as a top tourist state.
Tourism Department Director Dr. Rashmi Sharma mentioned that the department is enhancing tourist facilities to meet global standards. With the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari and Principal Secretary Gayatri Rathore, Rajasthan tourism aims to reach new milestones.
