At the Energy Partnership Forum 2.0, organized by the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BRICS CCI) – Energy Vertical, experts emphasized the urgent need to accelerate the energy transition. This significant event focused on enhancing international cooperation and innovation in the energy sector, with participation from diplomats, industry leaders, and government officials from BRICS and allied nations.
Key speakers included Roman Babushkin, Chargé d’Affaires, Embassy of Russia in India; Mr. GAO Hongshan, Minister Counsellor, Embassy of China, New Delhi; and H.E. Alberto A. Guani, Ambassador of Uruguay, New Delhi, who all underscored the importance of international energy cooperation. Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Ram Nath Thakur, announced a new scheme allocating INR 75 billion for solar panel installation subsidies and the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana to provide free electricity to households.
Dr. Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi highlighted the necessity of energy security for national development and called for increased efforts in the energy transition, including the adoption of low-carbon hydrogen and low-cost financing to achieve net-zero emissions by 2070. Rajesh Verma, MP, emphasized the strategic importance of energy partnerships among BRICS nations.
Ruhail Ranjan, President of the Energy Vertical, and Sameep Shastri, Vice Chairman of BRICS CCI, both stressed the importance of sustainability through collaborative efforts. Dr. BBL Madhukar, Director General of BRICS CCI, reiterated the Chamber’s commitment to promoting energy collaboration within BRICS.
Keynote addresses from distinguished speakers and panel discussions on Biofuel Policy, Green Hydrogen Fuel, and Renewable Energy & Energy Storage were featured, concluding with the felicitation of industry leaders and valedictory remarks. The forum highlighted BRICS nations’ dedication to sustainable energy solutions, driving innovation, and fostering economic growth.
