Startup Master Class comes to Jaipur

Startup Master Class (SMC) is an initiative of the alumni of Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT-K) formed five years ago to promote entrepreneurship. It has a tie-up with the NITI Aayog to build momentum and deeper penetrations in the start-up catchment area.

SMC has had 17 editions across various cities in India – Bangalore, Pune, Delhi, Hyderabad, Patna, Kanpur and Mumbai – and engaged more than 6,000 start-up enthusiasts, 500-plus delegates, 1,000-plus start-ups. This has created an ecosystem for start-ups to leverage the power of the alumni – the expertise, mentoring, funding, government and corporate connects – to support their journey.

The 18th edition is happening at Atal Incubation Center of JK Lakshmipat University in Jaipur on July 27. There will be startups, mentors and investors to build interactions and strengthen the network within the entrepreneurial community.

The event will focus on four areas: social impact, energy, transportation and defence. In the social impact category the key areas areeducation, livelihood, elder-tech, health and financial inclusion. In energy, the focus will be on green energy, water energy and clean-tech. Logistics, travel solutions and mobility solutions will be the key areas of the transportation category, and there will be a thrust on drones, wearables and surveillance in the defence segment at the Atal Incubation Center.

The Startup Master Class is organised along with IIT-K, NITI Aayog, IIT-K Entrepreneurship Cell and other participants such as the IITs, the IIMs, the ISBs and other premier institutions, to fostering and nurture budding entrepreneurs.

The programme on July 27 is power-packed with plenary sessions, entrepreneur speakers, theme panels with speakers with a mix of entrepreneurs, investors and policy makers; expert workshops; top 10 start-ups pitch to the investors and mentors; selected teams at pre-incubation stage pitch to Atal incubation centre for support; one-on-one for the attending entrepreneurs to meet the speakers and the mentors; and reverse pitch.
