Gehlot Making Programmes and Policies on Bachat, Rahat & Badhat

Transfers Rs 175 crore in the accounts of cattle rearers

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that the promise of giving maximum relief to cattle rearers and farmers through the state government’s policies and programmes is being realised. A three-day Rajasthan Kisan Mahotsava was organised at JECC, Sitapura in Jaipur, in which Lumpy Disease Economic Assistance Distribution was also organised. The Chief Minister said that many cattle rearers lost their milch cattle during the lumpy skin disease pandemic and in the budget it was announced to provide economic assistance to give relief to them. Implementing this announcement, he transferred Rs 175 crore to around 41,900 cattle rearers across the state through direct benefit transfer with a click of a button. The cattle rearers were given Rs 40,000 each for two milch cattle (cow/buffalo).

Gehlot said that insurance of Rs 40,000 each is being done for two milch cattle under the Mukhyamantri Kamdhenu Pashu Bima Yojana. The subsidy is being given to gaushalas (cow shelters) for 9 months and 12 months to nandishalas (bull shelters). Each gram panchayat is given an economic assistance of Rs 1.56 crore to open nandishala. Till now approximately Rs 2500 crore has been given to gaushalas as subsidy. He said that more than 68 lakh bovines have been vaccinated to prevent them from lumpy skin disease this year. He also virtually interacted with beneficiaries.

In this three-day Mahotsava, more than 50,000 farmers will take part. The world-class technique of agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, dairy, fisheries and agriculture marketing was displayed so that farmers are benefitted from them. Chaupals (public gatherings) were organised in which the agriculture experts and farmers interacted. The experts addressed the queries of farmers and cattle rearers along with also informing them to set up industries, about fertilisers and improved seeds etc. After Jaipur, Kisan Mahotsava will be organised from June 23 to 24 in Udaipur and in Jodhpur from June 30 to July 1.

Earlier on June 5, Gehlot transferred the benefit of Rs 60 crore in the accounts of 14 lakh beneficiaries of the Indira Gandhi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Yojana by organising Labharthi Utsav. He said that the state government is making programmes and policies on the theme of Bachat, Rahat and Badhat (Savings, Relief and Progress). Inflation is presently the biggest problem in the country. The general public is feeling miserable due to inflation. He said that due to the increasing prices, it was difficult for people to buy gas cylinders. The state government through the Indira Gandhi Gas Cylinder Subsidy scheme is providing gas cylinders costing Rs 1140 at Rs 500 and is fulfilling the promise made to provide relief from the inflation.

He said, “The money of the people is being spent on the people through these schemes. These are not freebies but this is the work of serving people. The beneficiary with the savings from these schemes can shape the future of their children and can spend on their education and raising them.”
