
Startup cricket team auction for the first edition of TiE Startup Premier League (TSPL), a first of its kind initiative in the state to create a lasting bond and create collaboration opportunities between startups and large businesses, was held in Jaipur. In this special event, 10 selected startups from the state pitched about their business and cricketing skills in an interesting way to big businesses of TiE charter members who bid to buy their favourite team.
Siddharth Shah of Rajesh Motors picked Freshokartz, Manuj Goyal of Pinkcity Jewelhouse bought Schoollog, Parijat Agarwal of Metacube picked Tinkerly, Ole Rooms was bought by Anil Agrawal of NAV Back Office, Bodhi AI by Samit Bordia of Samit Emeralds and Rupesh Tambi of KL Tambi & Sons, WeVois by Praveen Maheshwari of PR Rolling Mills, Raj Bagri of Roasty Tasty bought Fabriclore, Sunil Jain of Gemco Design bought Fleeca, Siddharth Shah, Samit Bordia and Rupesh Tambi jointly bought Garaaz, Sunil Jain and Nishant Jain of Tradeswift teamed up to buy cricket team of Learn and Build.
Dr. Ravi Modani, President, TiE Rajasthan and Ravi Goenka, Convener, TSPL conducted the auction. They informed that the presentations made by startups were extremely interesting and owners for 5 out of 10 teams had to be decided by lucky draw as the bidding amount hit the maximum cap. From here onwards, all startups along with their team owners will start practicing for TSPL Box Cricket League to be held on 28th -29th January. However, TSPL aims for much more than cricket and will provide startups with opportunities to network with large businesses, mentors and investors and have a wider reach, they added. Sharad Bansal, co-founder of Jaipur-based startup Tinkerly said, TSPL is a golden opportunity for budding startups to work with large enterprises. Also, the rule of two women players in the startup cricket team in this league will give an impetus to employment opportunities for women.
