Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that Rajasthan has become a model state in the country in the health sector. Here the Right to Health law has been implemented for all the people. The general public is feeling secure with the facility of free treatment up to Rs 25 in the Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana (Chief Minister Free Health Insurance Scheme) including free OPD-IPD and tests.
Gehlot was addressing the swearing-in ceremony of 1763 newly appointed doctors and the launch function of the RajHealth portal at Rajasthan International Centre. He wished a bright future to the newly appointed doctors.
Right to Health praised across the country
The Chief Minister said that the health model of Rajasthan with the Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana and the Right to Health is being praised across the country. He said that the government of Dr Manmohan Singh at the centre gave many rights to the citizens including the Right to Information, the Right to Food Security, the Right to Education and Employment Guarantee. In this series, the State Government implemented the Right to Health. The Old Pension Scheme was implemented with a humanitarian approach for the secure future of the state employees. He urged the Centre to implement maximum schemes of Rajasthan in the entire country and provide support to the general public.
Research on Post-Covid Diseases at a cost of Rs 120 crore
The Chief Minister said that the Centre for Post-Covid Rehabilitation and Institute of Respiratory Disease is being opened with a cost of Rs 120 crore. The research and results of this centre will not only benefit the state but the entire country. Medical and Nursing Colleges are being opened in every district, which will increase the reach of health services to the general public.
Gehlot said that 7% of the state’s budget is spent on medical and health.90% of people in the state have health insurance, which is the highest in the country. It has been the result of the government’s schemes and better implementation that Rajasthan is among the leading states in the country on various standards including Maternal Mortality Rate and Infant Mortality Rate.
Dedicates RajHealth portal to people
The Chief Minister dedicated the RajHealth portal to the people. The portal will work as an e-office of the medical and health department. This will also be an important step in the immediate and transparent redressal of the problems of the general public. He also released a poster and brochure of the ‘Rajasthan Model of Public Health’.
Health Minister Parsadi Lal Meena on this occasion said that now the doctor will be available in each PHC with the posting of newly appointed doctors. Chief Secretary Smt. Usha Sharma said that the newly appointed doctors will have an important role in making the state a Nirogi Rajasthan (Healthy Rajasthan) and carrying the health model of the state to the country. Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) Vice-Chancellor Dr Sudhir Bhandari also addressed the function. Health Department principal secretary Dr Prithvi administered oath to the newly appointed doctors to serve humanity.
Medical Education Principal Secretary T Ravikanth, Director Public Health Dr Ravi Prakash Mathur and other officers and personnel of the medical and health department and newly appointed doctors were present at the function.
