JJS 2024: A Glimpse into the 22nd Year of Glitter and Grandeur

The Jaipur Jewellery Show (JJS) was launched in 2003 under the visionary leadership of the Late Rashmikant Durlabhji to spotlight the city’s rich legacy in gemstones and jewellery.

Genesis and Vision: Crafting Jaipur’s Jewellery Legacy

Jaipur, December 14: Known globally as the Pink City, Jaipur is renowned not only for its vibrant culture but also for its deep-rooted expertise in lapidary—the art of cutting and polishing gemstones. Over the years, Jaipur has evolved into a hub for exquisite jewellery, with growing infrastructure, an influx of tourists, and a flourishing hospitality industry transforming it into a burgeoning metropolitan city.

The Jaipur Jewellery Show (JJS) was launched in 2003 under the visionary leadership of the Late Rashmikant Durlabhji to spotlight the city’s rich legacy in gemstones and jewellery. This initiative aimed to elevate Jaipur’s prominence on the global gems and jewellery map, embracing modern marketing strategies to position Jaipur as a premier destination for gem and jewellery trade.

JJS: A Journey of Growth and Success

The inaugural JJS in 2003 featured just 67 stalls at Entertainment Paradise, attracting notable interest and enthusiasm. By 2004, the number of booths nearly tripled to 189, reflecting the event’s growing appeal. Over the years, the show has expanded exponentially:

  • 276 stalls in 2005 at Rajmahal Palace.
  • 552 booths in 2014 at Jaipur Exhibition & Convention Centre (JECC).
  • 1100 booths in 2023.

In its 22nd edition this year, JJS will host over 1200 booths, a testament to its status as a premier platform for buyers and sellers. The JECC, the venue since 2014, has played a pivotal role in accommodating this growth.

Grand Inauguration Ceremony

The 2024 JJS will officially open on Friday, December 20, at 11 a.m. The ceremony will feature a distinguished personality from the gems and jewellery sector as the Chief Guest, continuing the tradition of celebrating excellence.

A World-Class Venue for a World-Class Show

The Jaipur Exhibition & Convention Centre (JECC) offers a state-of-the-art facility spanning over 250,000 square feet of pillar-less space. This impressive venue provides exhibitors and visitors with enhanced amenities, including improved flooring, lighting, and carpeting, along with ample parking and upgraded toilet facilities. A robust security system featuring 500 CCTV cameras ensures the safety of high-value exhibits, while a dedicated Media Centre caters to journalists.

A Showcase of Diversity: Over 1200 Booths

This year’s JJS features more than 1200 booths, categorized as follows:

  • Gemstones: 329 booths showcasing a variety of color stones.
  • Jewellery: 723 booths displaying intricate designs in gold, silver, and diamonds.
  • Costume Jewellery and Silver Artefacts: 13 booths.
  • Allied Machinery: 58 booths.

Nearly 66% of the stalls are designer booths, reflecting the creativity and innovation of the exhibitors. The event expects participation from over 8,000 hosted buyers and 50,000 domestic and international visitors.

A Comprehensive Display of Jewellery Excellence

JJS 2024 promises a complete showcase of the gems and jewellery sector, including diamonds, colored stones, silver, gold, base metals, carvings, and beads. Separate sections for jewellery and gemstones ensure ease of navigation for buyers. Notably, over 1000 top retailers from across India have confirmed their participation, making this a vital B2B platform for securing regular supplies.

B2B and B2C: A Unique Dual Approach

Unlike most jewellery shows, which focus exclusively on either B2B or B2C audiences, JJS caters to both. Retailers can explore a wide range of products for their businesses, while consumers enjoy the opportunity to directly purchase exquisite jewellery. This dual approach provides a holistic platform for feedback and engagement.

Highlights of the Event

The Pink Club: Introduced in 2022, this exclusive B2B pavilion named after Jaipur’s iconic moniker has been relocated to a larger space in Hall 2. Featuring 98 prefabricated booths, the Pink Club offers a dedicated lounge with complimentary tea, coffee, snacks, and free Wi-Fi.

Networking Dinner: On December 21, exhibitors, top retailers, and hosted buyers will gather for a Gala Networking Evening. This event will feature dinner, cocktails, and a live band performance, fostering business connections in a relaxed setting.

JJS-IJ Jewellers’ Choice Design Awards: Now in its 14th year, this prestigious awards ceremony celebrates innovation in jewellery design. The newly launched Ruby Promotion Group aims to address issues related to cutting, polishing, treatment, and certification of rubies, promoting innovation and quality standards.

Sustainability Initiatives: JJS continues its commitment to environmental protection by using canvas for branding and introducing a PET bottle crusher machine to recycle plastic waste, reinforcing its dedication to sustainability.

Expanding Global Participation

The 2024 edition will feature international exhibitors from Bangkok and Hong Kong alongside participants from major Indian cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, and Bangalore. This blend of national and international presence underscores JJS’s growing reputation as a global event.

Media and Promotions: Amplifying JJS’s Reach

A robust media strategy ensures extensive coverage of JJS 2024. Advertisements in local and national newspapers, radio promotions, and outdoor publicity campaigns will create buzz around the event. Social media platforms will also play a pivotal role in engaging audiences and providing exhibitors with valuable insights.

Business Hours and Visitor Conveniences

JJS will be open to business visitors from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and general visitors from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Free shuttle services from designated locations, separate lunch areas, and multiple canteens offering tea, coffee, and snacks ensure a seamless experience for participants and visitors alike.
