Startups are driven by ideas, innovation and invention. New entrepreneurs are coming up with new ideas, much needed for constant innovation and to induce a healthy competition. They are not only introducing novel products and services that change the world but are also creating newer and more employment opportunities contributing to the economic development of the society.
The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), with it’s global presence through 61 chapters in 15 countries and with more than 15,000 members and 3,000 charter members, has nurtured more than 25,000 startups over the past decades.
As a not-for-profit organisation and a part of larger TiE Global network, TiE Rajasthan has been a pioneer in mentoring, incubating and providing funds to promising young startups. Founded in year 2002, TiE Rajasthan has been shaping the startup ecosystem for the past 20 years in the state, and as a result, startups mentored by TiE Members have received sizeable amount of funding from various investors in the past.
Now, for the first time, TiE Rajasthan has planned to not just showcase the startups to funding agencies, but to provide large funds as grants, without taking any equity, to promising startups in a bid to create successful entrepreneurs and unicorns from the state.
Talking about the grants program, Dr. Ravi Modani, President- TiE Rajasthan said that it is a farsighted step to help young entrepreneurs at the very initial stages where funds are required the most but are hardly available. Our aim is to assist aspiring youth, build better economy and generate livelihoods and increase employability at a mass scale through our initiatives.
This program will be called ‘TiE Navigate’ and will focus on startups with social impact, along with startups led by women entrepreneurs. Technology driven, fast scale startups will also be included, added Sheenu Jhawar, Chair- TiE Programs. Recently awarded as the ‘Best TiE Chapter’ across the globe, TiE Rajasthan’s unique programs are serving entrepreneurs in every stage, right from school going entrepreneurial students to successful business owners.
