MP Diya Kumari said that with the Kevadia Museum in Gujarat, there will be an opportunity to know and understand the glorious history of the Princely States, while it will be preserved safely for generations to come. The MP said that this step by the Union Government under the leadership of PM Modi is historic and unprecedented in the direction of preserving history, culture and tourism.
The committee met to inspect the land allotted for the Museum being built to commemorate the contribution of 562 Princely States in the unification and formation of India.
MP Diya Kumari visited the land allotted for the museum to be built in the ‘Statue of Unity’ complex located at Kevadia in the Narmada district of Gujarat. During the visit, the work plan and framework for the construction of the museum were discussed. It is to be recalled that MP Diya Kumari was recently nominated as a member of the museum by the Union Government.
The museum will tell the story of the creation of a united India by the merger of 562 native princely States, along with the history of the glory and sacrifice of the princely States. The tallest statue of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is situated here.
Managing Director, S.S. Rathore; Padmashree Raghuveer Singh Sirohi, Maandhata Singh Rajkot; Mehrangarh-Jodhpur Director, Karni Singh Jasol; Director of Archaeology and Museums Department, Government of Gujarat, Pankaj Sharma were also present on the occasion.
