Palace on Wheels to Transform into Exclusive Destination Wedding Venue

The mesmerising sand dunes, captivating natural scenery, and splendid forts in every district of Rajasthan collectively set the stage for idyllic destination weddings, making the state a preferred choice. Adding to this allure, the globally acclaimed Palace on Wheels (PoW) luxury train is poised to become a distinctive venue for couples seeking a unique wedding experience.

This groundbreaking initiative is led by the Department of Tourism in collaboration with the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC), aimed at elevating the profile of destination weddings in the state. Couples planning to exchange vows can now consider the opulent ambiance of the Palace on Wheels, complete with provisions for pre and post-wedding photoshoots.

Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Diya Kumari expressed, “The decision to offer the Palace on Wheels for destination weddings is significant. It not only promotes destination weddings in Rajasthan but also highlights Rajasthani art, culture, and Vedic marriage rituals to attract foreign tourists.”

Couples selecting the Palace on Wheels for their nuptials will not only forge cherished memories but also act as ambassadors, showcasing Rajasthan and India to the global audience, she added. Rajasthan, renowned for its impressive heritage properties, constituting 75% of the nation’s total, stands out as the top destination for weddings in India.

Iconic cities such as Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Udaipur, along with various districts in the state, boast an extensive collection of forts, palaces, and mansions. With over 120 historical venues available, Rajasthan has emerged as the premier choice for both local and international couples seeking to tie the knot amidst regal splendor. Renowned personalities, including Bollywood stars, industrial magnates, and even Hollywood celebrities, are increasingly choosing Rajasthan as the picturesque backdrop for their extravagant wedding celebrations.

Year 2019: Best Wedding Destination Award by Travel & Leisure.

Year 2020: Rajasthan Best India Wedding Destination Award by Outlook Traveller. Best Wedding and Honeymoon Destination Award to Rajasthan by Travel and Leisure (India and South Asia).

Year 2021: Best Wedding Destination Award by Travel & Leisure.

Year 2023: Outlook Traveller Awards Ceremony-Best Destination Wedding Award.
