Second phase of vaccination begins

More than 2.39 lakh frontline workers to be vaccinated

The second phase of corona vaccination has started in the State from Thursday in which more than 2.39 lakh frontline workers will be vaccinated. The health department has made all preparations for this.

Health Minister Dr Raghu Sharma said that after the encouraging results of the first phase of vaccination, the second phase has been started from Thursday in the State. He said that in the second phase, vaccines will be administered to all army forces including Border Security Force and Central Industrial Security Force and also to the revenue department, local bodies, panchayati raj department and police personnel.

Dr Sharma said that so far, 22,520 people from the revenue department, 55,362 from the local bodies and 1,61,236 personnel from the police and army forces have registered on CoWIN software. He also added that those who could not get jab in the first phase can get vaccinated in this phase. He said that in the first phase 3,54,133 healthcare workers were vaccinated against the registration of 5,44,326.

The Health Minister said that till now 2,62,520 doses of Covishield and 1,77,340 doses of Covaxin have been allotted to Rajasthan of which the entire quantity of Covaxin  and 1,31,260 doses of Covishield have been received.
