Disbursement of interest free cooperative crop loans for the first time in the history of the state has been the maximum in one financial year and has set a record in Rajasthan. Cooperative minister Udaylal Anjana said that against the target of Rs 20,000 crore in 2022-23, interest free cooperative crop loans of Rs 19740 crore were disbursed to 29.71 lakh farmers, which is 98.70% achievement against the target.
He said that the present government in its tenure has disbursed interest free cooperative crop loans of Rs 9541.02 crore in 2019-20, Rs 15325.38 crore in 2020-21, Rs 18101.68 crore in 2021-22 and Rs 19470.87 crore in 2022-23. The present government during its previous tenure started interest free cooperative crop loans in 2012-13 in the interest of farmers.
It is to be mentioned that in 2022-23, in the kharif season, loans of Rs 180 crore were disbursed to 98320 new farmers and Rs 367 crore to 2,19,249 new farmers in the rabi season. Overall, Rs 547 crore of interest free crop loans were disbursed to 3,17,569 new member farmers.
The minister said that Apex bank working in an excellent manner earned a gross profit of Rs 115.69 crore of which Rs 73.07 crore was net profit. The gross profit compared to the previous year was Rs 3.52 crore more.
The state government plans to disburse Rs 22,000 crore interest free crop loans in 2023-24 and 35 lakh farmers will be benefitted including five lakh new farmers too can take loans. On this, the government will spend Rs 1000 crore as interest subsidy. The loans will be disbursed through Central Cooperative Banks.
Meanwhile, the state government providing a big relief to the farmers has extended the last date of repayment of short-term crop loan of kharif 2022 to June 30, 2023 or within 12 months from the date of taking loan, whichever is earlier. Now the famers have got additional time to repay their loans. Earlier, the last date of repayment of loan was March 31, 2023.
